How to Create Salesforce Dashboard

The Salesforce Dashboard is a native app in the native Salesforce environment.

The dashboard provides a single view of the data relevant to the user and their business. It includes many report and graph types, such as reports, charts, tables, grids, gauges, maps, scorecards, etc.

This article will show you how to build your own Salesforce Dashboard with some simple steps.

What are Dashboards?

Dashboards are a key component of sales operations in Salesforce.

It represents the action taken by a sales team. A dashboard summarizes a company’s key performance indicators (KPI).

Dashboards can also be assigned for each specific group. Dashboards provide stakeholders with useful information. They allow you to monitor how your customers interact with your product.

This enables you to provide services and deliver a seamless experience for them. Dashboards are a powerful tool to measure and monitor your sales operations.

However, if you want to create a dashboard, you need to create a dynamic report to show data over time. This task is commonly known as a Dashboard.

What are Dynamic Dashboards?

Dynamic Dashboards are charts that can be visualized and updated based on Salesforce data.

There are two types of dynamic dashboards: Short Term Dashboards that update automatically.

Long Term Dashboards that are updated manually. To create a long-term dashboard, you have to make the reports and add the Long Term Views. Create Long-Term Dashboards:

A Step-by-Step Guide To create the Long Term Dashboards:

Dashboard Setup

As you may know, Salesforce is built with Java, so you can expect the same Java methods for generating tables.

However, with Salesforce Lightning, you don’t need to connect to the Salesforce Server to start the SQL. Let’s create a simple table now. To start with:

  1. Select the Contact role from the left sidebar in the screen below.
  2. Select the Table settings from the settings menu in the dialog box below.
  3. Select Set Table to Categorical Language from the Table tab and then set the names to contact. You will need to change the CATEGORY_DETAILS field to your Custom ID.

In this case, we want to assign this field to our custom Salesforce users. The value of the CATEGORY_DETAILS field will be the collection ID. You can obtain this number from the user.

Setting up the report

Click on Table Background, make sure the Series Number is set to 1 and click on Open. Now, select Column A – “Description.” You should have two fields – description and sub-summary.

These will look like this. This is how you would appear in the report. You can change the settings to add other fields –

  • Click on Add New.
  • Fill these fields with details. Click on Close.
  • To increase the detail, click on Expand.
  • Now, to add new rows, click on Table Background and choose the sub-product.
  • Click on Create. To return to the Salesforce web console, click on Set up.
