There are many different reasons why you might want to block websites – for example, you want to stop your child from viewing sexually explicit materials or anything that contains violence.  Here are some ways you can block websites on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.

What is blocking?

Chrome’s built-in block list option does exactly what its name suggests. With it, you can block specific URLs from loading.  You can also whitelist specific domains and add/remove sites as needed. 

The list of URLs that can be blocked can be changed using the “Your Web Browsing History” link in the “Security” section. However, blocking doesn’t work for every website out there.

For blocking websites, you need to visit the “Your Web Browsing History” link (also known as the “Your Categories” link) in the “Security” section. 

This is an area of Chrome that you can change quite often. However, there are a few things you need to take into consideration when using this section.

In my case, I block Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. This prevents me from logging in to those sites.
